March of Dimes Heroines of Washington Awards

Heroines of Washington

WGB is honored that March of Dimes has selected 3 of our own as Heroines of Washington Awards finalists, which honors women who go above and beyond their professional responsibilities to make a sustained impact on their communities through service efforts.

The March of Dimes Heroines of Washington Awards Gala is one of Washington’s most esteemed events, recognizing professional women in the D.C. Metro Area for their dedication to community service.

Since 2001, the March of Dimes has honored 111 “heroines” and raised more than $2.8 million to make sure one day all babies are born full-term and healthy.

This year the event will be held at Mercedes-Benz of Arlington with doors to open for Special Guests at 6:30pm. VIP guests are invited to enjoy the Cocktail Party from 5:00-6:30pm.

Together We Give Event hosted by the Giving Circle of HOPE

WGB's Nicole Morris

Giving Circle of Hope's Together We Give is both a celebration of the circle's mission to create positive change and an opportunity to introduce the community to the power of collective giving.

This serves as a great reminder of our impact and difference we all make at WGB.

Women Giving Back was one of three nonprofits featured and we received over $1k from the evening’s proceeds.

Fashion NoVa Event benefits WGB

The Peterson Companies once again honored WGB by naming us their beneficiary at the Fashion NoVa Show at Fairfax Corner. Glorious fall fashions were displayed (and we may have just bought a few!) to a large crowd. We love our partnership with them!

Loudoun County Public Schools

Great meeting with the WGB Outreach Committee and Loudoun County Public School's Outreach Services Supervisor, Grant Schafer and several LCPS Parent liaisons.  LCPS Parent Liaisons help bridge the gap between home and school by providing parents with the resources and support they need to ensure their child's academic and social success. We look forward to working together this school year.

Christian Mission in Ghana

Transformed Life Ministries (TLM) has been in existence for the past 35 years in Ghana, West Africa. TLM in collaboration with WGB's Community Distribution Partner, GAP Ministries (USA) have embarked on Outreach work in villages in Ghana through the distribution of clothing to the poor and needy.

Christian Mission in Ghana

They have realized that relationship with churches and ministries like GAP Ministries (USA) is a vital part of this ministry and the entire Body of Christ. They believe that relationship is not an option, but mandatory for yielding results in life and ministry, and together can make a difference in our cities, nation and the entire world for our Lord and Master Jesus Christ.

Teamwork and a network of international partners is what makes the Ministries' outreach successful.

Terraforma Church

What a great day we had with Terraforma Church. Approximately 20 adults and 15 kids helped put together approximately 80 snack packs and 60 hygiene packs. The kids placed handmade notes and cards in the packs! Plus, the group accomplished a lot of sorting and organized the store in multiple sizes and for the fall season.

A lovely letter from our new friends at Cushman & Wakefield said, “The group had an amazing time volunteering at WGB. Your organization is fantastic and making a meaningful impact on women in our community.  It is my hope that Cushman & Wakefield can remain involved with WGB for many years to come. During our clothing drive last month, we also encouraged our colleagues to make monetary donations in honor of Shelley Radomski.”
