Christ Child Society

Christ Child Society

Thanks to Community Distribution Partners like Christ Child Society, WGB has been able to provide clothing to families in need as far as Washington D.C.!

Here are a few kind words from Robin Kramer, Program Coordinator at Christ Child Society, “I wanted to touch base and say how much the Christ Child Society appreciated the kind donation of all the baby clothing. Our Book and Baby Fair was a huge success and many of families walked away with bags of very nice clothing for their family members.”

Loudoun Hunger Relief Pop Up Market

Thank you so much Loudoun Hunger Relief for joining forces with WGB so our women could shop for clothes and then obtain free groceries after! It turned out to be such a success with almost all of the groceries gone afterwards! Many families went home with new wardrobes and groceries, leaving for a wonderful day.

Lauren's New Look

from Britepaths’ July 2018 e-Pathfinder

Lauren's New Look

Looking and feeling your best can make a big difference when you're working to improve your family's financial future. We are grateful to our community partner Women Giving Back for helping our Financial Mentoring client "Lauren" pick out some new-to-her outfits to give her confidence as she works with our wonderful volunteer Claudia Granada on her journey toward self-sufficiency.

When we posted about Lauren on our Facebook page, her mentor commented, "Go [Lauren]!!! I know she will go far...she is a warrior! I am honored to work with her! Thanks Britepaths!! We couldn't have done it without you." And we could not do what we do without Claudia, Women Giving Back, and all the amazing community members who give of their time and resources to help our families succeed. Thank you!

July & August Stores

Thank you to the FBI and the Sterling Library for coming to facilitate hands on activities for the kids while moms were shopping! Our friends with the FBI taught about safe internet practices while the Sterling Library introduced art and building! Thank you for being such stewards in our community and joining us! We are grateful.

WOW! We were stunned at WGB to see how unified and hard working the Madison Dance Team was this past Wednesday! You can tell they are a team based on the way they work together and communicate. Kind words from our warehouse manager “They were incredible! We were so lucky to have them and they are welcome back anytime!” Thanks a million for helping us get three weeks worth done in three hours!

Spotlight on Volunteers

Alexis Glienke has volunteered several hours with us at WGB this summer and has offered a helping hand everywhere! Not only does Alexis come into the warehouse and store to help where needed, but she also volunteers from home by helping create flyers, presentations, as well as other admin related work. For our backpack giving season this year, Alexis helped ensure all the backpacks were organized by age and had sufficient supplies. She also spent several hours organizing our boxed clothing and color coding them all by size! Alexis has been invaluable at WGB and we are very lucky to have her. Thanks so much! We are so grateful to have you.

Thank You!

Thanks to everyone for donating school supplies, backpacks and boys clothes! One of our biggest clothing needs have been boys clothes and we are so grateful!

Sean is one of our "Second Story" client's son who came in to shop. The scream and laughter we heard when we gave him a Paw Patrol backpack was memorable.
