Cinco de Mayo

The annual Cinco de Mayo event will be held on May 4th from 5:30 to 9:30pm at the WGB Store in Sterling, VA.

The proceeds from this event provide direct support for the Women Giving Back program, helping us to clothe thousands of women and children in need each year.

Women Leaders in the Nonprofit World Panel

Terri Stagi represented WGB at GMU’s Women Leaders in the Nonprofit World Panel on April 18th. An impressive group of students met to learn how to navigate in the nonprofit sector. Hoping to find some of them applying for internships with WGB!

Volunteer of the Year - Melissa Fox

Big News! And very exciting! All three chapters (Bluebell, Cherry Blossom and Orchards) in our region of the National Charity League, Inc. have been chosen as Group Volunteer of the Year for WGB. (Pictured below is the Cherry Blossoms). And a huge shout out to our very, very special Melissa Fox, our Volunteer of the Year.

Melissa has been instrumental in bringing in many more volunteers and projects for us to assist with. All of these amazing individuals will be honored at our Cinco event and we hope you'll be there to applaud them. We will certainly be cheering on their behalf!

George Mason University
April 29th was a busy day with over 60 volunteers coming into our Warehouse to help us sort, organize and begin the process of getting ready for our upcoming Cinco de Mayo celebration. We had 40 GMU students in at 9 AM and they worked efficiently and productively for 3 solid hours.

Hats off to Rob Miller, Coordinator of Orientation and Student Leadership Team for putting this community service project together with our Operations Manager; Nicole Morris. This would not have been a smooth operation without the assistance and hands on contribution of time and experience from the "Super Sisters" and members of the Board of Directors - Cyndi Shanahan and Cindy Dwyer.

Our second shift of the day arrived at 1pm and was here until 4pm. The UVA Club of Loudoun; some great people from the Wahoo Nation. The warehouse is looking clear and clean for the 10th Anniversary Celebration. Tickets and Sponsorships are still available. The praise and comments from Cyndi and Cindy ranged from courteous and to terrific!
